DOOSAN BABCOCK WINS RoSPA’s PREMIER OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARDS
14 May 2010, Crawley, UK: Doosan Babcock, a part of Doosan Power Systems, has been awarded the Sir George Earle Trophy by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). RoSPA’s premier Occupational Health and Safety Award was presented at a Gala Dinner held in the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel, on 12 May 2010.
In addition to the Sir George Earle Trophy it was also announced that Doosan Babcock were also winners of the RoSPA Engineering Construction Industry Sector Award 2010
The internationally renowned Sir George Earle Trophy honours Doosan Babcock’s excellence in occupational health and safety management, our resultant performance and our innovative approach to workforce involvement.
Iain Miller, CEO, Doosan Power Systems said: “We are very proud to be recognised by winning the Industry Sector award, however, Doosan Babcock also being awarded the Sir George Earle Trophy is a truly superb achievement and is testament to our people and their proactive efforts. The trophy award winner selection process was conducted, after the formal submission process, by verification visits to Doosan Babcock’s Renfrew offices and our site and project operational centres. The process also included a formal presentation by the winning Doosan Babcock team to an adjudication panel at RoSPA’s headquarters in Birmingham.
Doosan Babcock’s association with the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards scheme has been long-standing beginning with its first award win in the 1980s.
